Resident asks city to sell small lot at 800 North Vine to enable duplex development

Cindy Peterson told the commission she is requesting consideration for the purchase of the city-owned lot at 800 North Vine and said combining it with her adjacent property would allow development and proper maintenance. "I'm requesting consideration for the purchase of the city owned lot at 800 North Vine," Peterson said, adding cleanup estimates of about $15,000 to remove dead trees and poison ivy.
Interim City Manager Quinde said staff had discussed potential future city uses for the parcel and did not anticipate any. "It's landlocked, so there's nothing we can do with it," Quinde said, and staff will work with Peterson on an offer process if the commission consents. Commissioners voiced general support for staff moving forward, with no formal action taken tonight.
