Castle Rock staff: online public presentations and objections will no longer be accepted for hearings

At the March 9 Board of Adjustment meeting, planning staff told the board the town will no longer accept online presentations or objections for public hearings and that in-person attendance or written comments are required. "We no longer allow for people to call in. Everything has to be in house here ... So we will no longer be having those, online along with, the town council," staff said during the presentation about the 607 6th Street application.
Staff framed the change as a townwide shift consistent with Town Council practice; the board did not take a formal vote on the procedural change during the meeting. The change was announced as part of routine staff updates; staff also explained that council liaisons will be expected to attend in person rather than remotely. The practical effect is that members of the public who previously participated remotely must either attend hearings in person or submit written comments for the public record.
