State Senator Brady Brammer urges local input on land-use bills, outlines gas-tax proposal

Utah State Senator Brady Brammer told the Pleasant Grove City Council on Jan. 6 that he opposes shifting land-use decisions from cities to the state and urged local officials to provide feedback to the Utah League of Cities and Towns.
"The State's housing issues should not be solved by removing city discretion," Brammer said, adding that he expects similar proposals to reappear in the upcoming legislative session. He also described a bill to move the gas tax to the refiner level that he said would be revenue-neutral for Utah and direct funds toward highway improvements.
