Plainfield honors lifeguards and medics after Splash Island resuscitation

On July 13 the Plainfield Town Council recognized multiple employees — Mark Liston, Hayden Bonds, Shae Skidmore, Mike Casale, Daylin Williams, Donnie Massing, Paramedic John Soto and Paramedic Daniel O'Shaughnessy — and parks lifeguards for their response to a June 10 medical emergency at Splash Island. Town officials said lifeguards immediately removed a patron from the water, activated the emergency action plan, and ensured she received life‑saving care until medics arrived.
Michelle Bennett Imhausen, the guest who was treated and transported to the hospital, attended the meeting to thank staff and said, “I love my town.” Council President Brandgard and meeting attendees applauded the team and presented the Community of Values awards and photographs.
