Items approved included an amendment to the marijuana ordinance (Ordinance 4307a) to reflect state changes criminalizing consumption by vehicle occupants and open containers; an ordinance (4308a) adding a misdemeanor for publishing personally identifiable information of public officials; fireworks code housekeeping (4313a); code enforcement citation procedures (4314a); a cleanup to traffic equipment language (4317a); and an update to assault and battery penalties to match state law (4318a).
Staff emphasized these were updates to align local law with state statutes and, where required, council voted to declare emergency measures so changes took effect immediately.
