Several residents addressed the Kimball City Council on June 19 to express concerns about traffic and access during the Main Street construction. Ed Schaub, Ed Konechne and Joe Soulek highlighted alley traffic patterns, possible one-way alley proposals, and safe delivery routes while construction and detours are in effect.
Council discussed options for the boulevard area in the 300 block, including steps, carriage walks and sidewalks, and decided to have Banner Engineering review plans with affected property owners before taking action. The council tabled sidewalk warranty decisions pending further details and directed staff and engineers to return with options.
In addition to the boulevard discussion, Mayor Gough said he would follow up with Banner Engineering and District III about design options and financing availability for Kimball West street concerns raised later in the meeting. Residents will have further opportunity for input once Banner presents refined plans.
