The Kimball City Council met June 19 at the city office and administered oaths of office before moving to new business. Mayor Bill Gough appointed Matthew Bilben to the remainder of the vacant Ward II seat; the council voted 5-0 to accept the appointment (Bickner-aye; Stellwag-aye; Blasius-aye; Wingert-aye; Janish-aye).
Council members then elected Harold Bickner as Council President (motion by Janish, second by Blasius) and appointed Dayle Blasius as Council Vice President (motion by Janish, second by Wingert); both motions carried unanimously. Mayor Gough announced committee and board assignments including Economic Development Board (Bickner) and Library Board (Janish), and the council approved those appointments by motion.
The meeting packet shows routine procedural approvals began the session: the agenda was approved (motion by Blasius, second by Bilben) and minutes from June 1 and a June 4 special meeting were accepted (motion by Janish, second by Blasius). The council set its next regular meeting for Monday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m., and scheduled a special meeting for Thursday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m.
The council signatory block records the meeting adjourned at 9:44 p.m.; minutes were signed by Mayor Bill Gough and attested by the Finance Officer.
