Board hears education committee recommendation to adopt Edgems math resource at Meselovsky Middle School

The education program committee reported that Meselovsky Middle School, after an in-district trial and comparison with two other resources, recommends adopting the Edgems online math resource for the coming school year. The committee member presenting said teachers would use Edgems as a supplement (teachers remain the primary instructors) and noted students already access materials via Google Classroom.
"Meselovsky Middle School came to share what they are looking to implement, starting next year," the committee member said, describing the tool as non-consumable and accessible online. The committee described a year-long vetting process and said teachers and students who trialed the resource had "very good things to say." The board was told a formal vote to permit adoption is expected at the next meeting.
The committee also updated the board on year 2 of a three-year school improvement cycle at a high school (22 topic areas narrowed to six priorities) and an in-school suspension pilot intended to reduce academic loss when students are removed from class.
