District counsel outlines positions on Corkscrew Road ownership; Johnson Engineering inspection underway

District counsel Tony Pires restated his opinion regarding ownership of Corkscrew Road west of U.S. 41 and summarized the county’s and Village of Estero’s respective positions based on past documents and memoranda. Pelican Sound leadership and Johnson Engineering have been engaged to inspect streets, walkways and intersections to determine what needs repair and to clarify who holds ownership and maintenance responsibility, with particular attention to the U.S. 41/Corkscrew Road intersection.
Mr. Pires said he and Mr. Krebs would forward contact information for Apple Signs to Mrs. Adams. Mr. Wilhems confirmed the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road.
