Engineer's report: system reached capacity during Tropical Storm Debbie; resident mold concern disputed

District Engineer Charlie Krebs told the board that following Tropical Storm Debbie the stormwater system flowed unobstructed but reached capacity in places where the community received almost 8 inches of rain over two to three days; he noted the roads were designed for roughly 5½ inches of rain in 24 hours. Krebs suggested The Club could add a drainage connection to Lake E1-A to bypass pipes and inlets and help move water directly into the lake.
A resident reported standing water coming up through a slab and linked it to mold in their unit. Mr. Krebs recalled prior comments that standing water had been an ongoing issue at that location and said he did not believe the stormwater event was the cause because other units had not reported similar problems. Supervisor Schultz requested Mr. Long comment on the matter and asked that it be added to the next meeting agenda for further review.
