After a teacher-driven selection process and a presentation to the educational programs committee, the RSU 18 board approved a new math program for Mesolonsky Middle School.
Trustee Andy, who moved the motion, said he and others attended the presentation and praised the program’s teaching resources. One trustee called it “superb,” adding, “Even you could teach from these books,” highlighting the program’s comprehensiveness and classroom usability. Board members emphasized that professional development will be essential for consistent implementation and that teacher buy-in helped drive the recommendation.
The motion to adopt the new program passed unanimously; trustees said they expect the program to improve continuity and quality across middle-school classrooms.
