RSU 18 board welcomes new Mesolonsky High School math teacher

The RSU 18 board approved the appointment of Chris Alves to a math-teaching position at Mesolonsky High School and noted retirements in the personnel packet. Superintendent Zipporah highlighted Lisa Wrigley’s retirement from special services administrative work and introduced Chris Alves to the board in person before the vote.

Zipporah described Alves’ background and classroom involvement at the school; trustees praised his special-education coursework and the fact he already works in the building and leads student activities. Trustee Mac said the special-education training will serve students well; another trustee called the program selection a positive reflection of teachers’ leadership in the process. The appointment motion passed unanimously and the chair welcomed the new hire to the district.
