The RSU 18 finance committee presented a month-by-month breakdown of payroll and accounts-payable accruals and urged clarity for towns on how expenditures affect taxpayers.
Finance committee member Sarah summarized monthly payroll and AP figures: “In February, we have about 2,100,000. Expenditure in March was about $2,000,000; in April it was about $2,000,000,” and committee staff said year-to-date total expenditures are on track. Committee members noted some April signatures remain outstanding for full approvals and recommended adding a clear summary line to the informational sheet for towns so residents can see the bottom line effect on taxpayers.
The committee also discussed fuel usage and pricing and recommended holding off on large-scale fuel purchases while the district watches market conditions. The board asked staff to include a single-page summary in the packet that clearly states cash-flow impacts and planned next steps.
