Councilors closed a public hearing with no public comment and moved to approve the first reading of an ordinance amendment to rescind Ordinance No. 637 and amend Sections 31 and 93 to combine Parks and Urban Forestry. Administrator Weasner told council the action corrects an earlier error made when the two committees were combined and would allow the city to apply for a tree-setting designation while maintaining a combined board.
The public hearing drew no comments and was closed at 6:03 p.m. The first reading of the proposed ordinance amendment was approved by motion of Councilmember Stone and second of Councilmember Christensen, carried unanimously. Additional readings or final adoption will follow the city's ordinance procedure.
