The Park Rapids City Council on March 10 unanimously approved a package of land-use actions to add a Planned Unit Development overlay and subdivide PID# 32.20.01450 into six parcels. City Planner Ben Oleson (via Zoom) told council staff reviewed revised plans with the city engineer and MPCA and determined the applications met city requirements.
Oleson said the proposal would leave one parcel containing the applicant’s existing residence as residential for now, convert the remainder to parcels intended mainly for commercial uses, and create a shared lot to be owned jointly by the six parcel owners. Resolutions #2026-44 (rezoning), #2026-45 (preliminary plat) and #2026-46 (conditional use) were each moved, seconded and carried unanimously. Council also approved the first reading of the zoning-map amendment ordinance for PID# 32.20.01450. The actions set the project up to advance through final plat and permit reviews under the conditions listed in the council packet.
