Council approves Kolache Days events, waives event fee; OKs temporary liquor licenses

The Kimball City Council on July 20 approved a special event application from the Kimball Chamber of Commerce for Kolache Days/Echos of the Past scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, and waived the related fee. Jesslon Walsh represented the Chamber during the request.
Mary London and Michelle Chmela described Support the Splash Group’s planned fundraisers—a run/walk and a bag tournament—to take place Aug. 8 during Kolache Days. The council did not take further action beyond event scheduling and the previously approved fee waiver.
Separately, the council approved temporary on-sale liquor licenses for the Kimball American Legion to cover a wedding reception on Aug. 1 and a bag tournament on Aug. 8. The license fee was set at $100 per event and the motions passed by council vote.
