Friends of the Library report roughly $9,800 in recent revenue; volunteers fill gaps

At the July 28 meeting, staff reported that the Friends of the Library continue to generate revenue and support operations. "For May and June, total revenue was $9,800 and some change," director Blair (speaker 6) said, describing larger donations from estate cleanouts and volunteers who pick up books.
Board members noted the Friends' flexibility in funding smaller needs when county or state money is unavailable, and staff outlined logistics such as a wheeled magazine rack for sales in a garage bay, puzzle tables, and coordination with branch staff for bookmobile and in-branch needs. The Friends were credited repeatedly as an operational backstop for programming and one-off purchases.
