The board tabled final adoption of a speed-limit resolution to allow staff time to complete a multi-month review of county roads and to correct a date on the draft resolution. "This will allow us to review all of the county pavements, for reasonableness of the 60 mile per hour default speed limit," the agency official said, estimating staff can bring "3 or 4 per month" to the board for consideration and that the full review will likely take most of six months. Supervisors expressed interest in raising limits on some roads but concern about curves and transitionary zones near Ottumwa.
The board approved tabling the resolution to the next meeting so staff (Brad) could "get more ducks in the row," and asked for corrected signature pages and dates on the document. No numerical vote tally was recorded in the transcript; the action was by voice vote.
