Ginny Boyce, executive director of the Parks Alliance, presented an organizational update to the board on June 23 outlining a structural shift to the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). Boyce said the Alliance moved into CICF as a special interest fund to leverage finance, accounting, HR and communications supports while keeping a small, nimble staff focused on fundraising and stewardship.
"My name is Ginny Boyce. I'm the executive director of the Parks Alliance," Boyce said, adding the organization is 35 years old and will remain focused on raising funds that support parks projects such as Tarkington Park. She described the Alliance's role as a philanthropic partner that raises and manages dollars to fill gaps the parks department cannot fund directly and said the CICF relationship will help demonstrate capacity to manage larger gifts and create longer-term maintenance funds for trails and park assets.
Board members thanked Boyce for the update and described hope for continued partnership; Boyce said the Alliance's team of three will remain small while CICF handles back-office functions.
