Later in the meeting the appointee introduced herself as "my name is Selena Navarro," saying she grew up in Indianapolis, has served for 10 years recruiting for the Boy Scouts of America and currently chairs community engagement for the mayor's Latino advisory committee. She told the board she looks forward to serving on the Greenways committee to help invite more residents to parks and trails.
Board members praised the candidate's bilingual skills and youth engagement experience during the discussion and recorded the motion as carried.
