Board approves vertical construction job order contract to Glenroy Construction

The Board of Public Works on June 24 authorized the director to award JOC26009, an on‑call job order contract for vertical construction, to Glenroy Construction Company, Inc. Nathan Sheets of the Department of Public Works told the board the procurement is an indefinite‑quantity, indefinite‑delivery contract and that DPW expects to award five contracts from the solicitation.
"The anticipated yearly budget is $1,000,000 to be shared among the 5 contracts," Nathan Sheets said, explaining that the contracts are meant for repairs and rehab work that do not fit typical horizontal construction procurements. Sheets said contractors bid unit prices that are multiplied by agreed adjustment factors and that the Office of Minority and Women Business Development will review subcontracting efforts and diversity inclusion plans submitted by bidders.
Board members asked how material costs are calculated; Sheets said DPW uses a unit‑price book and multipliers to determine billed amounts. Sam Barris noted that the $1,000,000 figure is a maximum estimate, not a fixed annual commitment, and that individual task orders could vary from small repairs to projects in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. With the items taken as consent, the board voted to approve the contract award and associated consent items.
