Neighborhood group briefed on July 1 MDC hearing on draft data center ordinance

Pat Andrews, speaking for the McKenna neighborhood association, notified members that the Metropolitan Development Commission (MDC) is scheduled to hold a public hearing and likely vote on a draft ordinance covering data centers on Wednesday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m.
"It should be a public hearing, so folks who have an interest in data centers, 1 way or the other, are always encouraged to show up and speak up," Andrews said, and noted that if the MDC passes a draft it would proceed to the City-County Council as the next step.
Andrews also mentioned the Warren Township DC Block data center appeal may be on the same MDC agenda and cautioned members that the meeting could be lengthy; he encouraged neighbors with an interest in data centers to attend the MDC hearing.
