On June 30 the Minocqua Plan Commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval of Conditional Use Permit #28-26 for NBT Properties LLC to operate a kennel boarding facility at 8714 & 8724 Highway 47, forwarding the recommendation to the Town Board for final action.
Carla Blankenship advised that Oneida County Ordinance 9.75 allows the use for certain existing parcels even though the lot is 4.47 acres—slightly under a nominal 5-acre benchmark—because the parcel meets the ordinance’s qualifying criteria. Applicant Brianna Trapp told commissioners the kennel will occupy the same building as a previously approved retail store, and said they will install a privacy fence, operate 24-hour on-call staffing and use cameras to monitor the site: "we will be putting up a privacy fence between the lots and will have cameras and 24 hour oncall staff to monitor the premises when they are not there," Trapp said. The commission voted to recommend approval to the Town Board by voice vote 7-0.
