The applicant’s engineer said the new house will be supported by an advanced waste treatment system with a deed restriction for maintenance, a reserve septic area, and a rain garden to address concerns raised by the Lake Hopatcong Commission.
Neighbors spoke at the public hearing about existing drainage and the proximity of wells; resident Kenneth Farina raised concerns about stormwater management and potential effects on neighboring wells. Tom Graham, the applicant’s engineer, told the board that after consulting with the health department the provided well information gave confidence in the proposed system. "There will be a UV light installed," Graham said, and he confirmed an alarm will be provided. The board approved the application by recorded vote; the applicant entered two exhibits (Building Height Calculation and Steep Slopes Disturbance) to the record.
