Resident Karen Pitt, who identified herself and gave her address, told the board she has opened a boutique cigar retail store at 2640 Joey's Plaza and requested permission to have a mobile unit and entertainment for a one-night grand opening. She said the store will be retail only (no lounge), selling five Nicaraguan blends and operating as a cash-and-carry business.
Board members discussed placement in the parking lot so traffic would not be impeded and confirmed neighbors had been contacted. The chair and code enforcement officer said no formal presentation or vote was required for the one-time request and encouraged the applicant to coordinate with neighbors and the barber and other plaza tenants. The board welcomed the new business and wished the applicant luck.
