Staff proposed an amendment to Title 14 Chapter 3 (sections 3 and 4) to clarify that garage-setback rules apply only when a garage door is on the primary façade. Under current language the setback applied regardless of the garage door location; the revision would narrow that requirement.
Staff said the change simply clarifies the code to match the intended application. No public speakers opposed the item and the commission moved, seconded and approved a positive recommendation to the city council.
The commission’s recommendation will be recorded and forwarded to the city council for consideration as an ordinance amendment.
