Commission approves 458-unit Metaside site plan after resident raises gateway and tree-loss concerns

The Lebanon Planning Commission approved a site-plan revision for Metaside, a proposed 458-unit residential development on roughly 100.16 acres at 2770 Tucker's Gap Road. Staff told the commission the plan is compliant with regulations and recommended approval.
During public comment, Derek Dawson of 106 Chapman Drive criticized the proposal’s density and tree removal and warned it would affect the city’s interstate gateway. Dawson said, "This property will be the 1st property on the interstate gateway going through Lebanon, Tennessee that makes the city of Lebanon look like you're going through New Jersey." After public comment, the commission moved, seconded and approved the site plan.
Staff recorded no remaining comments on the plan; the commission approved the site plan and will forward the recommendation as required.
