Staff recommended approval with an additional pedestrian connection between Hazelton Drive and Chambers Bay Drive; Kyle Griffin of CSTG spoke to the commission and said he was "just here to answer any questions you might have about this request." The commission moved, seconded and approved the plat including the variance and the pedestrian-connection requirement.
The variance was characterized by staff as a unique hardship tied to sewer infrastructure and wetlands; the commission approved the variance along with the plat and will forward the recommendation to city council.
