High school reports record Knowledge Bowl turnout and college-readiness activities

High school staff reported Nov. 25 that Knowledge Bowl has a record turnout of 18 students, which will support two JV teams. A data review of 180 students found only 25 were not involved in extracurricular activities, the report said.
Aaron Fletcher described an EWU Aspire workshop covering FAFSA, personal statements, college pathways and use of AI; he said Mrs. McKenna is working with Innovia to arrange a FAFSA booth at an upcoming basketball game. Fletcher also announced a combined band and choir concert on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m., ongoing SEL work by Mrs. McKenna, First Friday character videos by ASB officers, an FBLA/NHS food drive competition and an upcoming door-decorating contest.
No funding amounts for college-readiness efforts or the FAFSA booth were provided in the minutes.
