Liberty schools celebrated OSPI awards, retirees and upcoming graduation and athletic achievements

Superintendent Jerrad Jeske congratulated staff and students on several recognitions: Liberty Elementary/Junior High received an OSPI Growth award and the High School received an Excellence award for the second consecutive year. Jeske also recognized employees retiring this year: Kris Berry (43 years), Barb Cressey (26 years), and Melissa Doubet (8 years), thanking them for their service to students and the community.
Alex Saywers reported the high school has 42 students on track to graduate and that graduation is scheduled for June 6 at 1:00 p.m.; valedictorians were named (Addilee Buys, Lucy Smith, Daniel Nollmyer, Colin Degenhart, Kinley Fish, Jordyn Jeske) and salutatorian Gwen Olson was named. The board also heard athletic highlights including multiple all-league selections, a gold medal for the band in the Lilac Torchlight Parade, and track qualifiers headed to state.
