Principal Alex Saywers told the board that testing season is underway for SBA and district assessments and that the school has refined its School Improvement Plan to focus on math and English language arts for grades 3–8. He said Junior Boosters will offer class parties for grade levels that meet their targets and that an assembly will kick off the incentive program.
Saywers said the district held Kindergarten Round-Up on April 17 with 30 families attending and that the district has 40 students who have expressed intent to register for kindergarten next year. He added that TK currently has all 20 slots filled and that the TK informational open house is scheduled for May 12. Saywers also described scheduling work (junior high schedule finalized; elementary specials and WIN to be set) and class-placement planning beginning May 4.
