Superintendent reports enrollment increase to 576 and facility updates; $21,500 bid for elementary fence

Superintendent Jerrad Jeske told the board, "Our enrollment continues to trend positively. We currently have 576 students, an increase of approximately five students compared to this time last year." He reported that despite recent wind and rain there have been no water leaks and that summer work appears to have resolved the problem.
Jeske also said Northwest Fencing submitted a bid of $21,500 to enclose the elementary playground; their installation would pound posts rather than dig holes and could be completed in a couple of days. He noted replacement seats for the old gym arrived after about an eight-month wait and installation is scheduled over winter break. Jeske added the district will be down a custodial person starting mid-January and is seeking a substitute custodian.
