Superintendent Jerrad Jeske reported the district’s current enrollment at 561 students, exceeding the budget projection of 545. He said the higher headcount will factor into the district’s fall budget planning and staffing considerations.
Jeske also flagged state-level fiscal pressure: board members were told the state may need to cut $4 billion over the next four years and that recent budget enactment shows tax revenue down by more than $500 million since passage of the two-year budget. The superintendent asked the board to anticipate further spending constraints as the district finalizes plans for the coming school year.
