Joe Knightzel of JMN Architecture, representing the applicant, told the board the plan for Prime Storage would install a new second floor within the existing single-story warehouse at 229 Butter Lane to create self-service storage space without enlarging the building footprint. "We are proposing a new floor level within our existing warehouse building," Knightzel said, adding that the four rear buildings will remain untouched and that the front sales office will remain in place.
Knightzel said the project is in compliance with parking, zoning setbacks, and that the scope includes infilling a depressed loading dock to grade and minor restriping to improve ADA accessibility. Board members confirmed the lot would be fenced and that self-storage areas would be enclosed; the board moved to close the hearing with a 10-day written comment period and recorded the motion as passing with five yes, two absent.
