Board approves amendment to labor contract with Laborers' Local 1686 (Resolution No. 628)

Secretary Kaitlin Leary reviewed the proposed amendments to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Housing Authority and Laborers’ International Union of North America Local #1686. She said the union presented nine requested items; five were tentatively agreed to and four remained at status quo after negotiations. Leary told the board the agreed changes would likely raise costs by about $26,000 for 2027.
Commissioner Kristie Vauthier moved to adopt Resolution No. 628 amending the CBA effective July 1, 2026; Commissioner Mary Kay Bjornemo seconded and the chair declared the motion carried unanimously. The board gave authority for the contract amendment to take effect on July 1, 2026.
