Housing authority reports rocky RAD transition; some tenant relocations complete

Secretary Kaitlin Leary, the Housing Authority secretary, told the board that tenant temporary relocations at Mount Haggin Homes were completed this week but administrative systems remain problematic. "We still do not have rent and reporting capabilities set up, applications are a grey area, finances are a mess, and we are still unable to provide tenant balances," she said. Assistant Director Paul Fenchak added staff are spending significantly more time producing reports than before the transition.
The board discussed operational strain caused by the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) transition and flagged delays with outside partners. Leary said she had been "frustrated with Good Housing Partnership’s lack of help on new program implementation," and that staff are manually pulling information pending full account and software conversions. The board did not take a new formal action on RAD administration during the meeting; staff reported continued day‑to‑day progress and promised follow-up as accounts are completed.
