Siouxland Library representative reports 11% circulation increase and summer programming partnership

Stephanie, a representative of the Siouxland Library branch serving Crooks, presented the library’s annual report and highlighted an 11% increase in circulation. She credited a new door counter for some of the increase but said circulation rose independently and listed special programs that contributed to higher usage.
"Highlights from the year included several special programs... we did the kickoff party for the summer reading program in conjunction with Crooks community days," Stephanie said, noting more than 100 participants. She also described weekly story times at 10:30 a.m., a winter reading program, an "Everybody Reads" initiative tied to March returns and a hands-on engineering program for teens planned for March delivered by a professional engineering society.
Stephanie thanked the fire department for participating in story time and noted Minnehaha County invested in building insulation and landscaping to make the facility warmer and more attractive. She handed council a program handout and asked the council and community to help promote library events and bring more families to programs.
