Marion County approves FY27 ICAP renewal, names auditor as proxy

Marion County supervisors voted to renew their membership coverages with the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool for fiscal year 2026–27 and designated county staff to represent the county with the pool. The board approved Resolution 2026-87 after a presentation from the county's insurance broker.
Scott Ziller of McKay Group reviewed aggregate liability limits, auto coverage, cyber liability and property coverage and compared ICAP pricing against a quote from EMC Insurance. McKay Group "recommended renewing with ICAP for 2026-2027," the board record states. The resolution designates Jake Grandia as the county's ICAP representative and Dani Graves as the alternate and authorizes the FY27 renewal coverages and cyber policy.
The action was taken by motion (McCombs moved; Jahner seconded) and, per the meeting record, all motions at the session were approved with aye votes from Jahner and McCombs; Jim Mueller was absent. The resolution is recorded as Resolution 2026-87.
