Commission adopts updates to meter‑reading fee policy and NSF/ACH policy

Staff presented two policies as part of the commission’s comprehensive policy review. The first, Policy 20 21 0 1 (opt‑out of meter reading fee), was reformatted to the new template and removed the fee amount from the policy language so it is maintained in the fee schedule. The second, Policy 2008.15 (nonsufficient fund checks and ACH payments), was rewritten: staff clarified the policy statement and moved procedural steps into a separate procedural section while retaining existing procedures.
Danny Locke explained the redline and template updates and answered commissioners’ questions. Commissioner 2 moved to approve each policy and the commission approved both motions by voice vote.
Staff said the edits are administrative and procedural in nature and recommended adoption to keep policy language consistent with the fee schedule and internal procedures.
