Dr. Michelle McFarlane of Frontier Community Resources presented a $5,000 SMILES grant to the City of Jerome during the April 7, 2026 council meeting to support downtown improvements.
Planning and Zoning Manager Ida Clark described plans to use the funds to purchase custom planters for the intersection of Main and Lincoln and additional locations downtown. Clark said the planters will be durable—able to withstand salt and freezing winter temperatures—and will be used with seasonal plantings in spring and summer and decorations in winter. She said the planters will be monogrammed with “Jerome.”
