The City of Jerome Planning & Zoning Commission approved a Design Review on April 14 for a proposed Dutch Bros drive‑thru at 2708 South Lincoln Avenue.
Planner Ida Clark walked commissioners through design guidelines covering adjacent uses, screening of service areas, parking and circulation, materials and colors, lighting, and landscape buffering along South Lincoln. Staff noted the proposed building would be approximately 1,025 square feet, provide 12 parking spaces, and show a queue of up to 15 vehicles though the code requires a five‑vehicle queue; excess queueing would rely on coordination with neighboring parking owners. Jeff Likes, representing the developer, said "stacking will be bad for the first couple of weeks" but that Walmart had reviewed and signed off on access; he described landscaping, screened trash enclosure, and limited exterior light trespass.
Commissioners discussed traffic impacts and pedestrian safety; Commissioner Jeff Schroeder questioned how many coffee shops the city could support and expressed safety concerns for customers crossing South Lincoln. After discussion, Commissioner Shonna Fraser moved to approve the design review as presented; the motion passed unanimously.
