Housing Authority says RAD construction underway; tenant relocations to begin in June

Housing Authority Secretary Kaitlin Leary told commissioners on May 14 that construction under the RAD conversion is active at Mount Haggin Homes and Cedar Park Homes, and the first temporary tenant relocations are slated for June. New tenant leases are in place and staff are preparing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) certifications for submission to the state and the investor, RBC, with assistance from Good Housing Partnership staff.
Leary also reported that the authority's new housing software is not yet functional, preventing staff from providing tenant balances or making deposits. Because of the software complications, late fees were waived for May and the board agreed to waive adverse actions for any Non-Sufficient Fund returns for tenant payments during the month. The board recorded no objection to the temporary administrative waiver while the software transition continues.
The meeting minutes note Good Housing Partnership assigned Michelle Davis, formerly a property manager at Butte Silver Bow Homes, to support LIHTC certification work. Staff emphasized coordination on tenant notices and temporary relocations as construction progresses, and a June 19 tour for conference attendees will include a remodeled unit at Mount Haggin Homes.
