Secretary Kaitlin Leary told the Board that "closing has again been delayed," after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requested an additional component to the Environmental Review. Leary said the supplemental review required a 30‑day public notice, which was published in the Leader on Jan. 14, 2026, and that closing is now expected toward the end of February.
The update was given under new business; Leary said staff are continuing to work on the conversion despite the schedule slip and that a final tenant meeting is planned for February. No formal action was taken at the meeting on the RAD timeline beyond acknowledgment of the HUD requirement.
