Mayor Christopher Barber administered the oath of office to Jason Felter at the April 21 Jerome City Council meeting. Fire Chief Mike Harrison introduced Felter and said Felter came from Ada County with Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and "has earned his Fire I, Fire II and Hazardous Materials certifications" since joining the Jerome City Fire Department.
Chief Harrison described Felter as "an asset to the department" and the mayor and council welcomed the new firefighter. The council observed the ceremonial pinning by Felter’s fiancé during the oath.
The appointment was recorded in the meeting minutes; no formal vote was required to administer the oath.
