Council awards $148,661.11 contract for South Beach water tank and treatment plant painting

The council approved a maintenance and coatings contract for water system infrastructure in South Beach. Todd Trent of the engineering department recommended awarding the construction contract to Purcell Painting and Coatings in the amount of $148,661.11 and authorizing the city manager to execute the agreement subject to city attorney review. "With that, recommendation is move to approve the construction contract with Purcell P and C LLC doing business as Purcell Painting and Coatings in the amount of $148,661.11 for the project," Trent said.
A councilor moved to approve, another seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote. Staff described the work as painting and sealing critical infrastructure prior to weather-related deterioration and noted funding will come from an approved capital project and the operating budget for related components.
