The HR presenter summarized the monthly TCM report: 32 new hires, four of whom are resident student‑teacher contract hires who signed two‑year commitments; 64 certified teachers displaced by school closures were placed at other campuses; and roughly 25 vacancies remain open.
"We released 146 TACC teachers at the beginning of the summer and have brought back 60 to date," the presenter said, and estimated the district is down approximately 50 teaching positions overall versus last year. Committee members requested a reconciled breakdown and evidence supporting the counts.
Staff said final hiring numbers and payroll reports at the close of the fiscal year would clarify exact reductions in positions and dollars.
