Board approves grant submissions and updates COVID, reporting policies

The board authorized several policy and program actions at the Aug. 14 meeting, including approval to submit a grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts for participation in the Tribal Community Schoolyards project with the Trust for Public Land. The motion was recorded as: "Motion by Richie Second by Valerie to approve submission of a grant to the National Endowment for the Arts and letters of support for participation in the Tribal Community Schoolyards project with Trust for Public Lands." The motion passed 4–0.

Separately, the board approved an MOU with Oyate Kin Zaniya Nipi Kte "with the additional changes and additions to be developed by school attorney," and directed inclusion of attorney recommendations to clarify mandatory reporting requirements for all staff as mandatory reporters following staff training.
