Board appoints Tonya Dull Knife to vacated seat and directs election plan submission

The Crazy Horse School Board filled a board vacancy at its Aug. 14 meeting by appointing Tonya Dull Knife to complete the remaining two years of Avril Livermont's term. The appointment was made "per school board policy 1.10 (3) and CHS constitution, Articles 2 Section 8."
Minutes record the action as: "Motion by Richie Second by Valerie to approve the appointment of Tonya Dull Knife to complete the vacated school board position for the two years remaining of Ms. Avril Livermont's term per school board policy 1.10 (3) and CHS constitution, Articles 2 Section 8." The motion passed 4–0.
The board also adopted a motion directing the CHS Election Committee to submit a CHS School Board election plan to the Business Office and to publish accordingly, which sets the process to fill future election requirements.
