At the July 20, 2026 study session, Senior Planner Amy Taylor introduced Casey Bradfield and Ben Han of Berk to present a kickoff briefing on the Summit Place project. Mayor Sean P. Kelly asked that the open house date be firmed and reported back to council; councilmembers also expressed a desire to meet with King County Council to help ensure the project does not stall.
During the public comment period, resident Dave Pilgrim asked for more than one open house or meeting so that members of the public have additional opportunities to attend; the minutes note the planning commission plans an open house at the Farmers Market in late September. The minutes record council interest in outreach and county coordination but do not show final decisions or motions tied to the Summit Place briefing.
