The Crazy Horse School Board approved two vendor contracts for the 2024–25 school year at its Aug. 14 meeting in Wanblee. The board voted to accept Ketel Thorstenson's bid for audit services and to contract Evergreen for district IT support at $3,669.80 per month for a 12-month term.
Board members recorded the motions in the minutes. As stated in the record, "Motion by Richie Second by Sue to approve audit service contract bid from Ketel Thorstenson for the 2024-25 school year." For the Evergreen contract the minutes read: "Motion by Richié Second by Sue to approve IT service contract bid from Evergreen in the amount of $3669.80/mo. for 12 months." The audit contract vote was recorded as 4–0; the Evergreen contract motion recorded a 3–0 vote.
The approvals followed the board's earlier decision to enter executive session to discuss personnel, legal consultation and bid contracts. The board did not discuss further procurement details in the public minutes; the motions moved the contracts into implementation under the district's procurement processes. The board recorded no opposing votes on either action.
The board's next steps include completing contract paperwork and notifying successful vendors. The superintendent and business manager will oversee execution of both contracts, per standard district practice.
